79 species observed at Aransas NWR along Hwy 35, Goose Island State Park, Copano bridge, Copano Bay, Hummingbird Lodge, Fulton, Rockport Park, Rockport harbor, Port Bay, Chiilipin Creek crossing State 188 near Sinton and Aransas Bay by boat.
6 observers, but report is from 2 only. Camped at Goose Island State Park. Days were hot and humid with light breeze near water.
Mammal species: Bottle-nosed Dolphin, Cottontail, Fox Squirrel, Raccoon (family of 4, photographed).

At night 5 nightherons were fishing on miniature island at end of fishing pier. In morning at 15 minutes before sunrise, one by one these nightherons flew from the pier area to a cluster of oaks to roost for the day. 7 adults and 2 immature birds were counted.

Uncertain whether this was a Semipalmated or Western Sandpiper. Substantial black bill, no curve, little or no droop, thick at base, appeared tubular with some taper, appeared long (therefore Western rather than Semipalmated?), White eyeline, very clear white breast, belly and undertail coverts contrast sharply with dark back.
